Trump’s playbook may be tossed, but higher tariffs are here to stay — one way or another

The U.S. Court of International Trade (CIT) in New York City unanimously decided late Wednesday that President Donald Trump’s use of the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) to impose tariffs was illegal, based on their reading of that law.  But on Thursday, a higher federal court decided that the tariffs would remain as it reviews this case on appeal.

So, where does “Tariff Man” go from here? Trump has options.
